Was the driver installed? You may have to go to the folder you downloaded the audio driver to, and run the setup program in that folder...

Are you using on-board sound or do you have a sound card installed in your computer?

Ok I heard you the first time...

Did you mess with the bios as well as delete files? Did you mess with the motherboard at all?

Ok we will start all over... You will have to open the computer and tell me what sound card you have installed. There may be a series of numbers or a name printed on it

She let you delete files but she won't let you fix it? Are you going to never have sound again, or are you going to take it in to be fixed?

I need help with my Audio and Video Controllers

I just received this computer from an old job. The audio and video controllers are not working. I cant hear any sounds and i cant play more than a couple seconds of video with out it stoping. I will provide a list of the mother board im using. In Device Manager under Other Devices it lists a Raid Controler, Multimedia Audio Controller and Video Controller (VGA Compatible). Next to those are a yellow exclamation point. Today i uninstalled these controllers to see if i could reinstall them to fix the problem. It did not. I cannot reinstall them because i do not have the software needed. Someone help .

For on board audio (where you have no install CD for the motherboard) you need to inspect the board first. Find the model number, and also the makers name if shown (some makers don't always do this). The model number is usually near the CPU. For example, P4P800-MX. Google this number and you should find the makers name showing - in this case it is an ASUS board.
Do not follow links to any site that is not the makers own site - go only to the makers site.
Find links on that site for downloads or support or drivers or something like that - they are all different. Search or follow wizards to find your board and then select the audio driver(s) download - I always recommend you save the driver file rather than install from the remote site.
Follow instructions and this should work.
Note that some editions of the same board may have different audio chipsets - if in doubt download them all and try them one at a time...
If all else fails it is always possible that there is a fault or a conflict - I have sometimes had to fit a sound card to get round this.

Use Everest Home Edition or SIW to find your motherboard's brand name and model number first. You can't get any help without that info.
