Yes that's exactly what I needed. Download your audio drivers from here. Good luck and let me know if it works.

Your motherboard's on-board sound chip is bad. You might need to install a PCI based sound card

audio problems

I'm trying to digitalize old analog files from VCR, and audio tapes to my PC.
to do that, I bough a PCI TV Card that has audio, video, S-Video, TV antenna inputs. The card came with a driver... and I installed the whole thing, and it looks like the installation went OK.
Still, when I connected my VCR analog lines to the card (S-Video + Audio in) - using either Video maker or Pinnacle 10 software - I was only able to get the video part, but no audio at all.
Could someone tell me why?
I would really appreciate it
Thanks
Jeanhttp

Have you tried using the right and left audio channels. Somtimes only the right or left audio channels are live, not both

Use Everest Home Edition or SIW to tell us your Motherboard's model number. That'd be the main information we need.

Click on this link to download the drivers - best to save them to a new folder on in your documents folder so you can find it again - and then run the driver install routine.

sorry - my fault as I clicked the wrong link:
try this one
http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...55_wdm5280.zip
don't worry about the clicking; it should go away once the driver is properly installed.

Hey, recently i installed Windows XP with SP2 on my brothers laptop. It too has the audio controller problem and i can't find a driver for it. I've run the CPU-Z and under mainboard it says:

Manufacturer: toshiba
Model: Portable PC
Chipset: ATI IDCAB3 Rev: 05
Southbridge: ATI SB200
LPCIO: SMSC

BIOS:
Toshiba
Version 1.50
07/29/2004

The laptop is a Toshiba SA60-106 (according to a sticker underneath it)

Any help, greatly appreciated.

sorry - could not find any working references to your board on my local compaq site in UK - you should look at your local compaq site as it may be something only sold where you are.

Your laptop model did not show on my local list of products - where are you and please confirm the model - satellite - or whatever. It may be that there is no audio driver available for you OS upgrade.

I am in New Zealand (The laptop i assume to have been from Europe because Shift 3 was the pound symbol.)
And even if i can find an old driver?

I installed the realtek thing but the speakers screech before each sound or when opening a media player.

SA60-106

Hi and sorry about the rugby - for both our teams.
Drivers are device and usually OS specific with rare exceptions. For example some odd W2k drivers will work with XP but very few. If you cannot find an XP driver you could try W2k. A screech usually means a driver error.
I found your system spec on a French site and see that you have a Realtec ALC 250 audio system.
Go to http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...130/RTL8139B(L)
and dowload the top driver from this ftp address
ftp://61.56.69.18/cn/nic/PCI_Install_5673_0820.zip
Remember to ininstall the old one before you install the new driver.
Best of luck.

yeah, but at least we made it further than aussie! So they can't boast about being better than us!

Just to let you know, this laptop has always run XP home i think, so sound drivers shouldn't be impossible to find.

What exactly did you want me to do? I ran the second link to download the driver, installed (don't know how to select which driver) but i ran the setup, installed and still no luck.
