I think we are the only ones that really idle in there. Everyone else seems to come and go, but I am pleased with the turnout so far. Hope to see more of you in there

phantasm
rick
young&wild
phatman5050
ToRN
Ravellidar

There have been some fun conversations, but we could always use more people.

But then it has official 3DS endorsement, and you can't use bad words, talk about sex, drugs, computer software piracy, etc, etc....

If you officially advocate the channel as a part of 3DS, then you must accept the rules of 3DS forums there.

One of the (already) strengths of the channel is that it doesn't have the same (necessary) restrictions as the forums. If its an unofficial channel, then people can do what they like, because its not strickly speaking a part of 3DS.

I want more people to come to the channel and chat, but I am not sure that it should be officially 3DS sanctioned...

Comments, members??

Concur... I think this thread will have to suffice as just a mention of a channel exists that several 3ds members that are on it at various times of the day.
That is a good point that if the channel is not officially endorsed by 3ds the rules are much more lax.

In my opinion even if it is an unofficial channel, still members have to behave themselves properly!

i think this thread would suffice.
but it's up to the 3DS staff whether they want to have an official IRC channel or not. of course, if it would carry the official 3DS name, then it would have be up to the 3DS standards and purpose.

Members will behave themselves properly, thats why there are ops. But the unofficial part keeps 3ds from being directly responsible from any legal action that may come of an 8 year old learning the "S" word.

I dropped in and all of you were sleeping

Pretty cool channel. Someone should post this up as front page news. I didn't even know the channel was up and running.... but I guess it's just my fault for not reading this thread.
