My laptop had a factory reebot, then a took off alot of extraneous stuff off, now it still has that problem while working on my sister's laptop

i've installed sims 2 on this computer before, but we had to get it cleaned or something and start all over.
so i;m trying to install it again, and it says :

[COLOR="Red"]A problem occured when trying to transfer the file 'TSData\Res\Sound\Voice3.package' from the media.[/COLOR]

It started doing that at about 30%, i think. And i kept clicking retry until it got to 100% but i am still having the same problem. i didnt have this problem when i first got the game.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hey everyone, I am new to this thread thing. I just bought the sims 2 on this past Friday, i purchased it once before and I'm having the same prob. now that I did then. It reads disc one and installs it just fine. Then at 23% it asks me to insert disc 2 so i do, and it never proceeds, it stays at 23% no matter how long i wait! I have went to the ea tech support site, and i tried all the things they list for the installation troubles, and none have worked. I really want to play my game, and I'm just so stressed out with it, b/c i have tried everything, even installing a NVidia drive from their website, like it says, and still nothing. My computer meets all the System Requirements.

I have a Dell Deminsion 2400 Windows XP home edition. My graphics card is the Intel(R)82845G and I do have the Direct x 9.0 stuff, please HELP!!!!

I wanted to install the sims 2 on my computer (Again) but realised that i have lost the code for it! so i can't. Does anyone know where i can get one or something?

My problem is not the same as any of the usual Sims 2 problems. For some reason, the installation screen won't even come up. Nothing comes up when I insert the game in. I have tried going to Run... and typing in E:\Autorun, I have tried restarting the computer with the disk in, and I have tried going to My Computer and opening CD-RW Drive (E. I have no background applications when I do these things. I'm doing everything that has been suggested, and still no success. Am I missing something, or do I just have a faulty disk?

i tried to install the sims 2 today and it always seems to get stuck at 9% and i dont know why!! Disk one never had a problem it was always disk 2 when it got to package 11!! I really want to play on my new game but i think the disks are scratched and my parents said that i cant go and get it replaced and they dont want me to go and get the disks fixed they said i have to use the ones iv got!!! Can anyone help me install my new game ?? i really want to try it out as my friend got it and said its amazing.. thanks

Try temporarily disabling your anti-virus program while you install it or you can try to install it in safe mode.

Me being me i retried about 10 times....

I was looking through the booklet and it says if i need to update my video drivers go to http://nvidia.com

Should i do that or erase my current sims2 video drivers?The thing is that i dont know wheer they are..I have a C:\\ drive and thats it..So are they there or not?

i have tried to install my sims 2 it goes on 1% and then it tells me a problem occurred when trying to transfer 'D:\Support\es\Leeme.txt' from Media what sould i do please help me

can someone help me please i have just bought sims 2 university off ebay and there is only one disk in the box should there be more than this as i can't find out anywhere, thanks for helping

I don't have the game but this Epinions site says there are two disks. Another clue would be if the disk says disk one or disk two on it. Games with only one disk have no need to say this.

when i try installing the game it gets to around a certain % and gives me this error

i have tryed changing this with the compatability wizard, copying the disk to the pc cancle backgroun info, and nothing seems to work i have had the game installed on the computer before but due to faults with the game i uninstalled it and now it wont work again the disks are fine but i have had the game for over a year now so it can not be returned please can someone help i really enjoy this game

gothgirl, although it's different now, it sounds like the game never worked on your PC anyway. Is that correct?

It might be that your PC or laptop doesn't meet the minimum requirements of the game, some of which are not obvious at first glance. Can you post your PC specifications so we may see?

I have installed the game before on my computer a couple times before. But now every time it gets around like 34% it says this: 'A problem occurred when trying to transfer the file 'TSData\Res\Sims3D\Sims13.package'from the media.Do you want to retry to copy the file, or cancel the installation?'

I have no idea what to do. Ive clicked retry PLENTY of times. but it still wont work.

I had the same problem exactly,i've tried everything but nothing worked.So i went back to the store and the salesman finally gave me the solution!!So,here's what to do:
1)Copy the cd1 anywhere to your computer
2)Go to the file Support/es. There you will see the file Leéme.txt.Rewrite the name of the file and replace "é" with "e". (Leeme.txt)
3)Then go to the file Support/sv, to the file "Lásmig.txt" and do the exact same thing as above.(Lasmig.txt instead of Lásmig.txt)
4)Choose "Autorun",from the copied cd1 and continue with the installation!

Okies, Im in desprate need of help.
With my old sims 2 disks, It went to disk 2, Then froze, I minimized it for a second, Then it said Sims 2 (Not Responding). So I thought It was just the CD.
So my mom bought me a new one, The Sims 2 Deluxe, It installed fine, it only has one cd. I tried installing expansion packs, It froze on the second disk, I tried more than one expansion pack. I tried installing it on my mothers laptop, The same issue happened. Seriously, I tried 4 Expansions, the same problem happens on two computers!!!! Please help me!.

ok i put the disk in and it doesnt do anything... so i go to run and type D:\Autorun and it tells me i need to insert the disk, this is the only disk i have im trying to install the sims 2 deluxe, i dont no whatyou gurs are talking about, disk 1 2 3 and 4 i only got 2 disk, 1 that says the sims 2 deluxe and a bonus DVD was this spose to come with other CD's? i bought it new and still wrapped in plastic is there somthing else im spose to install first????????
