DirectX install problem. (when installing, the file copying procedure were skipped)
hi guys,
for some reasons (files missing), I need to reinstall my DirectX (prevoiusly, 9.0c) for fixing some 3D gaming problems, and for some other reasons it's NEED to use DX9. Try installing the missing DirectX files manually by decomressing the DX9.0c installation package and copying the missing files to their appropriate destination.
I cant exactly recall what utility you can use to decompress the DX install exe, so try WinZip 9. If that doesnt work, then there is an InstallShield utility that can do this (I cant remember the app name, so google is your friend - search for "Installshield utility") - thats if DX using installshield in the first place. If all else fails, then backup all your documents and emails etc.. and re-install Windows. When things go sour in Windows, its usually a good idea to start fresh anyway. |
