Sort by points generated. Different story then.

Bah. UD doesn't like my "meager" 256MB of RAM and my 28k

Other than that...

I don't think it's points that really matter. Results are more important.

Where do you find this at. I looked around the site the other day but didnt' find anything.

I think I am just too lazy to look hard, so if you could please point me in the right direction I would appreciate it

Try clicking the "eat my dust spliffmeister" link. If that's what you mean. You can sort them by names, or points, or whatever.

I think there is no Unix client for UD, or am I wrong?

In another subject, I seem to be doing quite well, at least sorting by results. I installed a new CPU/mobo to my machine a couple of weeks ago, now 2.53GHz P4 which seems to be helping a bit (vs. XP 1600+), getting results much faster than before however the detected Realtek LAN card is rated 35 by the UD client (I'm on a somewhat crappy, dial-up alike, 64k cable connection), so I'm getting kinda short of points... getting results fast but with a low rated machine (121 overall) - if you look how points are being calculated then you know that's a bad thing, heh...

I'm leaving my machine turned on 24/7 ever since I joined UD, are you guys doing the same?

My machine is on 24/7 but not running UD that much, processor runs too hot to keep it on during the day. Although now the weather is much colder and today I've been able to run UD and still have my processor temp lower than its normal idle temp, too bad I have to wear a sweatshirt and a jacket in my house . Anyway I expect to be running it more now that its cold here.

Just joined the UD team, under 3DS_GeForce. Hopefully my Celery 700 should be more than reasonable enough for helping out.

I've been working on my machine that does that just recently but there will be a full resumption of service soon.

Well, at one point I had 11 machines ( 8 were 500 Mhz Celerons) But as of now only 4 are active, I had to take it off a few machines as it would prevent mapping to any shares on that machine.
I wish they'd refine their client a bit more.

I let it run on the machine I have in school whenever I can, though I sometimes takes it's HDD home which Win2K is installed on and then it's only got Win98 which doesn't seem to be able to run over a weekend without crashing (tried three times...) (P3 450mhz)

I run it on my primary machine when it's on, though I turn it off foer the night... And right now I'm not watercooling and then I don't like to run UD, CPU gets too hot... (XP 1,46ghz)

I also run it on my brothers computer which has it's internet connection through mine (ICS) but right now I've given away the CAT5 LAN cable so that one is not doing to much, it also gets turned off for the night... (TB 1,4ghz)

If I had not had dial-up I could leave the comps on for the night but right now it's not too easy to time it properly so they count all night and then when I get up they are done...

Being able to download more data from the servers would be nice...

Ok, got the clients installed on two servers now, one is a 800mhz fileserver I've set up here in school.

The other is a 450mhz printer server, both will be online 24/7 with full time internet access...

Maximize your points per CPU cycle

The default max harddrive space is set to 1GB per device. You can increase this to a max of 10GB by logging into http://members.ud.com/ and clicking on "My Device Manager" click on the default profile and change "Hard drive space to allocate". It doesn't seem to me the UD uses any more space when this is set higher. Mine appears to be taking about 14MB total. Note: You must have 10GB free to get the total points credit for this setting.

Well I did remove my main machine from crunching UD units - but it wouldn't have made that much of a difference. I think we are getting lots of slackers in here! We have more people and get less work done for this project.
