Cannot boot safe mode after installing video card
The trouble began when disabling the onboard video driver to install an add on video card. After installing the new driver, and plugging the monitor into the new card the display is totally dark, and unviewable.
I am unable to revert back to the onborad video because the driver is disabled. I've attempted to boot into safemode. The system hangs when trying to load driver apgcpq.sys. Is there a way to perform a step by step boot with XP, or does anyone have any sugguestion short of wiping and reloading O/S? Thanks in advance, Porterfort |

You could try booting first from your XP-CD.
Change the bootsequence in BIOS. Follow the instructions from the Sticky Read: How to repair.. at the top of this forum. |

How about VGA mode? Have you tried that.
I'm not sure it will help in this case, but it does if you have a comp on a 19" monitor and for some reason move it to a 15" before you dropped the resolution to something the 15" could handle. (otherwise the 15" works all the way up until windows gets up). |
