Using norton personal firewall - need to be supervisor?

hi all, need help on this REALLY fast .
im usin norton personal firewall and i was looking into it today.
i noticed that it says "Norton Personal Firewall is not protecting your computer" and i cant click on the "Enable" button or ANY other buttons.
i try to get into options and it says "only supervisor may view/change options".
any1 know how i can do that? i cant find any solutions for norton personal firewall, but i found some for norton internet security (which i dont have )

PS: my pc IS the pc that controls everything such as the net (the gateway) and this is also the pc which norton personal firewall was installed on first.
shouldnt i be the supervisor already?

plz help before i get an intrusion attempt

thanks

If you have W2K or XP, you need to log in as 'administrator', or as a user with admin privileges.
If it still does not work, go to http://soho.sygate.com and get their FREE Sygate firewall.
Then UNinstall that Norton crap and install Sygate. Your PC will thank you.

If you do NOT have admin, ask someone who is. Guess it's not YOUR PC.

Guaranteed fix for this problem is...

I too had this issue crop up suddenly when I installed Nero 7 Essentials & the LightScribe software. It prevented me from accessing many online items including this post!

The fix is as follows.
  1. Open Control Panel
  2. Open Administrative Tools
  3. Open Services
  4. Scroll down to where you will find 3 instances of Norton Personal Firewall
  5. Right click on each and select "stop"
  6. Uninstall NPF
  7. Reinstall NPF
