BSOD and event ID 1003
Hello,
I'm helping someone with a BSOD that only occurs at the first startup in the morning for someone: subsequent restarts don't reproduce the problem. After rebooting, windows has a message that reads the system has recovered from a serious error. The pc is a Dell gx260 optiplex running Windows XP pro. Hi Tech4u,
Bugcheck 9C is machine check which is caused by hardware failure (ie such as faulty ram, CPU, video card or overheat). |

sorry cpc, I didn't understand..should I run a program called bugcheck? Or was that a reference to the event log? Thanks in advance for your help!

Bugcheck code is the same as stop code. When windows crashes, Microsoft writes the bugcheck code to help us to identify the error. Extraction from Microsoft Web Bug Check 0x9C: MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION The MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION bug check has a value of 0x0000009C. This indicates that a fatal machine check exception has occurred. Parameters The four parameters listed in the message have different meanings, depending on the processor type.
