Hey teklord, go to google and type this in:

GF8500GT-P256H

Lots of cool information about the 8500GT and if you click on images, there is more. I was bored and came across that name for the 8500 and just went browsing for hours haha.

That looks like the Sparkle 8500 GT in those pics, General. One thing I noticed, the Sparkle 8500 GT has what appears to be a PCI 2.1 or higher slot type while the Albatron 8 Series PCI has the standard version. Not certain, but it may be possible the Sparkle version is better because it moves the data faster through the PCI pipe even though it is not processing as fast as the Albatron 8500 GT or the 8600 GT.

I still some how think the albatron cards are more up to date and faster. I still wonder why the sparkle one never made it to the states. That card was release in 2007 right?

If you type in GF8500GT-P256H in google, well its japan stuff, of course i can't understand it, but its not too hard to browse the menus and check out the 8500gt pictures.

Btw, the green tint might be a driver issue, who knows.

Everyone request the 8600 GT from Newegg or else you won't get one

Bad news all. I got this reply stating it isn't possible to purchase the 8600 GT PCI directly from Albatron contrary to Tha General's report. Unless he has some inside info, the only way we can all get our hands on this is to request vendors to carry. The reply is at the end of this posting. I recommend Newegg which has great pricing and service hence their popularity. I already linked to their merchandise suggestion page in another post, so everyone go over there and request this card so we can get the most out of our PCI systems. Thanks to all for reading this. Here is the link again for everyone so you don't have to search

Request the Albatron 8600 GT PCI everyone please

When you play Half Life 2 Lost Coast Model detail on top far left must be set to high to avoid texture glitches.

When I played Bioshock You got to

go to your \Documents and Settings\[Username]\Application Data\Bioshock directory (in Windows XP) or \Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Bioshock (in Windows Vista). Note that to see these directories you need to go to Control Panel>Folder Options>View and select 'Show hidden files and folders'. That stops the graphics being like green tint.

Use8bitBackBuffer=False
Use8bitOpacity=False

But it did'nt have any effect.
Also you need latest drivers for Nvidia card.

When I played Timeshift I kept aiming upwards a glitch ? it looked like yours Tha General.

Yea timeshift on the 6200 has black spots that appear, the 6200 is strong, but can't really handle the game fully. Its playable tho, and you have better cpu then me, so you should get more fps.

There's patches for games to stop black spots from appearing like Hitman.

Just go to Eidos forums and search for tech support.

That Albatron card looks like a small form factor would need a full size one to fit in a regular card slot.

I'll stick with my Nvidia 6200.

Don't understand, you are saying the card is too large for small towers?

Thats cool, its a great card if you use the right driver for it, i was using 165.02 or 81.98. You should look into buying the Diamond X1550 tho, its faster then the 6200.

I meant it has a half sized bracket.

Wait a min, he has a 466mhz Processor, um he may need to buy the 3dfuzion 5500 256MB 128BIT bus PCI card, thats the perfect card. Those other cards may be too powerful for his rig.

Hey, Xtremex what is your Powersupply?

Hi,
First, try to upgrade your CPU. Are you on "socket 370" or on "slot 1"? I think your CPU is a Mendocino on socket 370 (celeron 466mhz only exists on socket 370!), so check if you can add a best CPU as a P3 Copermine or a P3 Tualatin at 1,3 or 1.4ghz (10 to 20 $ on ebay). It's often note in the manual of your motherboard.

Then, people could tell you which card is the best for your system.

Until i am able to find one of the new Geforce 8 cards, i am buying the Diamond X1550 and 2400 Diamond version to see which one works the best

I plan to do some serious testing with both cards.

You can find computers in the trash better than 466Mhz, most of them I would think. Don't even entertain the thought of upgrading the graphics card without at least upgrading the CPU first.

Good post FusilliJerry82
Ironically yesterday, I was going through some junk and found an 800Mhz computer (no key) and when started came up with some error, could have just been memory error or HardDrive. But who cares I thought, so I decided to throw it away. I'm not going to waste my time on that, horrible thing (which will probably fault again anyway, with some other issue in a month).
Let alone purchasing new hardware for it. If it's not above 1.5Ghz (absolute minimum) I'm not interested.

You had a 800mhz computer and put it in the trash?

Have you seen my specs on my compuer, which i have been using since 2000 and its works just fine. I am using a 600mhz computer and its fast as hell, not the greatest, but it gets the job done.
