I mean to say the visiontek 2400 is faster in browsing the internet/webpages. Trust me, it is.

There is no visible difference between ANY video card from the past, oh, four-five years, in displaying webpages. The only reason why there might be is if the drivers are flaky in the 2D mode, but then just about anything would be visibly slowed down, and not just the internet.

WTF, an HD 2400PRO faster than the 7300GT? I doubt that's possible! Isnt it?

The 2400Pro isn't faster than the GDDR3 7300GTs, that's for sure.

When moving up and down on my mypage page or any myspace page or youtube page or looking at certain websites, the 2400HD can move around the page faster, with the 8400gs it seems to drag a bit. Trust me, its there. I notice little things like that. The 2400hd is also way faster in watching videos and can watch HD content without any trouble on both CBS.COM and youtube, whereas the 8400gs is less smoother in both. I did tests for hours just to see which card performs better. The 8400gs also records games better than the 2400HD, but again a tie.

The 2400HD is way smoother than the 8400gs, but the 8400gs is more powerful in some way. So in a way its a tie, but i would skip both and as i said just buy the 9400gt.

That's driver issues mate, not anything else. You'd notice the same thing if you had a fresh install of Windows with the Windows generic display drivers installed.

Have installed into the PCIE slot my new GeForce 9600 GSO card and all I get is a Red light!
Card came with a single connector to be attached to the card & Two Molex connectors but I find that I'm without any Power Connections to the supply side! Do I need another Power Supply?
MOBO is a MSI Amethyst-M v. 1.0.

Hey everyone. I was going to PM vfn with this, but PMing has a 45 post count requisite, so I guess I’ll post here for everyone. I just have a couple questions about getting a graphics card for my comp.

Here's a picture of my slots and video card. Pic Sorry it's so fuzzy, I took it with my phone.

Anyways, I was thinking about buying the GeForce 8500 GT recommended on this post, but as I mentioned I have a couple of questions about it. On my picture the video card isn't really attached to anything at the end(where the casing is), it's just screwed on by two screws. In the picture for the new video card, however, there are three places to plug things into. Does this mean the card isn't compatible with my computer, or maybe I'll have to make some major adjustments to allow it to fit?

Also, will the 8500 be able to support World of Warcraft in 1680x1050 res or not? I currently get about 3-5fps in WoW on my integrated graphics card on that resolution, will the new card be able to pump it up to about 20fps? Or is it not designed for such a high res?

8500GT was the best PCI card a year ago, now you want the 9500GT PCI. I see a fourth black slot on your mobo, that maybe an AGP or PCI-e slot, I would investigate that as you don't want to use PCI if you don't have to. My mobo has a black peripheral slot just like that and it is an AGP 4x slot.

8500GT will run on 1680x1050 but the framerate won't be stellar like the PCI-e version. It is much better than onboard but not a miracle maker.

Check to see what that fourth black slot is on your mobo and then make your GPU decision. 3DMark03 has a system profile option to find out just what kind of slots you have. I believe you can also find that out in your BIOS. Everest will tell you also. Also should be labeled on the mobo itself.

Another new PCI card has been release today, this time kinda lame, another HD2400, this time interesting by SAPPHIRE.

Tha General: I have a 8400 GS PCI 256mb 64bit ... i was wondering are the 175.16 drivers really best for that card? Btw my card is from Sparkle & im using XP 32 bit

Yes apparently your psu cant support more things, with no more connectors that should be a sure fire tale tell that you need to upgrade the psu.

Cost: $48.99...This should serve my purposes both for my SATA 1.5TB Seagate Barracuda & the GeForce 9600 GSO!

It should, but don't expect it to last very long if you add more HDDs or upgrade your card to a more powerful one like the HD 4850\4870.
