Major virus problems picked up by AVG free... some files like quickbooks are now inaccessible. It seems to be corrupting my executable files, one by one. I went through the preliminary virus/spyware/malware instructions with no better results. AVG is still popping up and unable to heal the viruses in my exectubles. Ive attached the HJT text file... please help!

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Your system is infected with at least one worm.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above you decide you want to clean your system, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT and AVG Antispyware logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Reformatting

That only replaces the O/S right?... I don't have to worry about losing my documents, etc... And what about the corrupt Quickbooks.exe... I assume I'll have to reload quickbooks?

Doing a reformat will wipe your hard drive. Once you`ve reinstalled Windows, you will need to reinstall all your drivers/software etc, including Quickbooks. Under no cirumstances, should you connect to the internet before installing your firewall software.
