Get a E4300 for better overclocking, and vista is out now, so buy that later.

I'd be wary of Vista for a little while, let them patch out the bugs and stuff, 3 or 4 months is prolly enough buffer time.
Unless you -really- want more eye candy, that is. |

Better PSU
Its up to you when you want to pony up the cash for a better PSU, this one will work for now, but if you get that 8800 series card your going to need a higher powered PSU. Personally if I had the extra cash I'd buy it now instead of having to cough it up when you purchase that already pricey 8800.
For the 8000GTS Id reccomend a good qaulity PSU of 500watts with 26amp or more on the +12v rail/rails. For the 8800GTS Id reccomend a good quality PSU of 600watts with 30amps or more on the +12v rail/rails. Last edited by JimShady23; 01-30-2007 at 11:32 AM.. |

Ber minimum
400 26amp is reccomended by nVidia for the GTS, 450 30amp for the GTX. I concider that to be very low, that is why I said. 500-600.
If you had the pleasure of OWNING one as I have. You will notice RIGHT ON THE BOX, next to the nVIDA requirements, that the manufactures reccommend higher wattage PSU's than nVidia. I am sure there is merrit for them doing this. Remember nVidia also states on the box that the GTX willl work fine and dandy with a Athlon XP, it just dont tell you that you will only be using 1/2 or less of the cards potential ![]() Make no mistake, the cards eat power. |
