BSOD 1000007f (00000008)

Hi,
I have some problems with my new computer. It sometimes just shows a BSOD and then reboots. Only the first time windows vista showed me a message after reboot:
Quote:
Probleemhandtekening:
Gebeurtenisnaam van probleem: BlueScreen
Versie van besturingssysteem: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.3
Landinstelling-id: 1043

Aanvullende informatie over dit probleem:
BCCode: 1000007f
BCP1: 00000008
BCP2: 878130C0
BCP3: 00000000
BCP4: 00000000
OS Version: 6_0_6000
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 768_1

Bestanden die helpen bij het beschrijven van het probleem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini081007-01.dmp
C:\Users\Bart van Egmond\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-33056-0.sysdata.xml
C:\Users\Bart van Egmond\AppData\Local\Temp\WER9C1F.tmp.version.txt
I found this page: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/137539/en-us and I did a memory test. The test gave errors so I replaced them with new ones. Memtest doesn't show errors anymore but I still have the BSOD.

I did memtest, checkdisk, cleaned the dust (not much, it's all new), temperatures are ok

My pc:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs)
Memory: 2046MB RAM (OCZ, DDR2)
Motherboard: Asus P5B
Hard Drive: 160 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS, 640 MB
Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6000) (6000.vista_rtm.061101-2205)

I attached the only minidump windows created, I hope someone can help me.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Your minidump crashes at FDCENT.SYS. Do you have the Hide files and folders programme installed? If so, uninstall it as this is a known issue.

Regards Howard

How often does it crash? Does it happen when you're doing something specific or does it happen randonly?

For now, check for spyware. I recommend the following 3 anti-spyware utilities:
  • Ad-Aware 2007
  • Spybot Search & Destroy
  • AVG Anti-Spyware
All are free and cna be downloaded over the Internet.

If that doesn't solve it, try monitoring the temp sensors. You can use Lavalys EVEREST Home Edition for this.

Failing that, try a registry cleaner. I recommend Registry Mechanic by PC Tools.
