What can cause vanilla (Like FE or ref edition) 3080Ti to keep it's power usage at ~300W flat in videogames and graphics benchmarks? Serious hardware failure is doubtful, cause under OCCT or AIDA card goes full throttle at ~350W.
Clean Win11, clean drivers, no mods or 3rd party uefi (I hope), perfomance seems to be alright and around 3090, judging by 3DMark score.
Not complaining, but interesting anyway...
Couple things in mind:
- both GPU-z and HWInfo show that one of 8pins (8pin#1) lags behind by exactly 40W
- It's LHR.
- Strange things about input NVVDD and output NVVDD - power goes down when vram kicks in. While under generic stress-test, VRAM pwr is around ~5W, GPU goes full gas. In games, VRAM can take as much as 80W, lowering both total board power and GPU power usage itself...
Look at current values
