Sources told the Wall Street Journal that the messaging site is in “advanced talks” to plunk down $50 million for TweetDeck, one of its own clients. TweetDeck basically makes Twitter easier to use by serving as a personal browser allowing users to connect with their contacts on various social media networks, including Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, from their computers, mobile phones and tablets. It also lets Twitter fans customize their usage by setting up columns, groups, saved searches and automatic updates.
