I'm on an a6 right now, the very bottom of the line for laptops a6-3400. games CAN NOT be played on this with any degree of enjoyment. last game I tried, pretty sure I was around 10fps using 720 resolution. I do however have this hooked up to my 2560x1080 monitor, running it like a desktop with orion spark g910 keyboard and g700s mouse.
That enjoyment would be even worse with win10 on it. that OS cripples the laptop, I tried like hell to use it and even using a single chrome, firefox, or ie tab with facebook was an absolute nightmare.
That basically tells me this person is hoping you think that since it has w10 on it, that it's newer so they can try to swindle more money out of you.
A6 line of cpu was released in 2011, it wasn't impressive then, and it hasn't aged well at all.
If they are trying to sell it for $50, I'd consider the purchase. I can however tell you I HATE being on this laptop. My photos I take with my camera take usually about 30 seconds just to display on screen.
I use this laptop vertical in order to gain the most amount of air flow to the apu for cooling, watching a few youtube videos and the thing starts to stutter or the video plays with audio but the youtube doesn't visually move.
This is with a fresh win7, all chipsets and drivers updated, recently cleaned fan/heatsink and new Gelid Solutions GC-Extreme Thermal Compound, and upgraded ram from 4gb to 8gb.
additionally this has a VERY slow drive in it crippling any access/read/write to the drive.
Just to get that laptop running "ok" you would have to install much quicker, very low/tight timing ram, preferably 16gb, SSD, and maybe even go with liquid metal thermal compound while having the laptop vertical in a stand like I have simply to keep decent thermals and minimize the thermal throttling.
Just to test the gaming performance, I'm actually installing smite to see what the actual FPS are. Smite is pretty awesomely optimized, so I'll try to report back with my findings after this installs.
the only reason I'm actually using this, my i7-3770k got water damage, died, and I'm borrowing this off my brother till I can afford the final parts in my computer. It's been since about May that I've been running this laptop. I hate every moment of being on this craptop. Granted I was spoiled by my i7, but man, this laptop might actually be slower at everything than my cell and very old tablet.
