Well im building a computer for a friend and am having a hard time with it. First of all i bought this motherbard along with this processor I also bought Rams, etc (no hard drive tho :( since i forgot to buy one). Ok my problem is when i installed everything, the case fan, CPU fan, and the neon light oon the case all light up and works but nothing comes on the screen. Now i know that even though theres no hard drive, it should atleast go to the BIO screen or something, but all i get is NOTHING. No beeps or anything at all. Also the fan isnt on the processor because i guess its broken, everytime i put it on something blocks the fan so it doesnt spin. So im wondering if whether its the MOBO or the CPU or what??? because im really confused.

check you've installed the cpu correctly. I had the same problem with a system - it would power on but nothing would happen because the cpu had become unseated from the mobo.

What do you mean something blocks the fan? The CPU HAS to have its fan. Matter of fact, if you don't have the CPU fan plugged into the motherboard, the BIOS may think this is a problem and prevent the CPU from working to save it from overheating.
Although you should probably get a beep code from this.
Didn't the CPU heatsink come WITH the fan attached to it? I guess take a good hard look at what stops the fan, maybe a loose wire or something.

Anyway, the other reason a new setup can go defunc is a short in the case somewhere. It may be a pain, but you could try taking the mobo out of the case and POST it on the bench. You can set the mobo on the mobo box itself.
You should be about to get a BIOS beep with just your mobo/cpu/power supply. That should be IT. It should beep to say there is no video, and beep to say there is no RAM. Make sure the speaker is plugged in so you can hear for it. If it beeps at this point, then plug in the RAM. It should beep again to say there is no video. Then plug in the video. Either the beeping will stop at some point (pointing to the bad part), or mobo/cpu/PS will no beep at all. Which means one of the three is bad.

See where that gets ya.

The fan is fine now, it spins perfectly. Well i put on JUST the cpu and mobo and ps and yet no beep. so i'll be calling geeks.com for a refund or a replacement of a mobo, cpu and ps

Sounds like it mate. Unless you have another motherboard to test his CPU in, or another CPU to test in his motherboard.
