Call of Duty sound issued with Audigy 2 NX and 5.1 headphones.

When running Call of Duty with the 5.1 headphones, I get occasional loud sounds and sometimes popping sounds. I've tried different sound settings within COD but this does not help (EAX 24bit, EAX 2, etc).

Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas on how to solve it?
