Try running this reg file:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/remoteacm.reg
(You may need to right click and save the reg file first to Desktop or somewhere convenient )
Then double click on it and select "merge" (Yes or ok)
Then restart
And test again
If that doesn't work
You may have a faulty (or missing) sens.dll system file
You can actually extract this file from your Windows CD and then copy it to
c:/windows/system32
Put your Windows CD in the drive
Close any autorun
(sens.dl_ is located on the Windows CD in I386 folder)
Go to a command prompt (Start->Run->CMD)
Change to your CD Drive letter (ie type D: then enter)
Change Directory to I386 folder (ie CD I386)
Type the following command:
expand sens.dl_ %windir%\System32\sens.dll
(answer yes, if overwriting existing file)
Remove the Windows CD
Restart the computer
Test again
Please reply if one of these fixed the fault (and which one did it)
