I've been trying all day yesterday and no luck. My comp has no OS and never has. It boots up, goes to the cd drive then says NTLDR missing press ctrl+alt+del to reboot.. i never knew installing windows xp was so hard on a non OS comp! any help would be appreciated

is this an original disc or a copy? and are you certain that the CDRom is set as first boot device in the bios?

its an orginal but its one of the first ones.. somebody suggested a boot disk? Where would i get that & how would i work it?

If you have made a copy of the origional CD and have not Cloned it, the CD will not boot. Merely making a copy of an XP CD will not copy the bootable files needed for the copied CD to boot and start installation. You have to clone it. You can do that using Nero and theres other free software but I dont have the links to them.

Go into the BIOS and make sure the CD is the first device that boots then your hard drive. Have you done that?
