Can't switch left and right mouse buttons

When I go to the settings everythings grayed out

I'm no longer using a Microsoft mouse I think it's a HP Optical mouse 97986 Rev.S4
I really want to use it with my left hand

check if maybe you can uninstall Intellipoint via Add/Remove Programs. just a guess

There were two installations of Microsoft intelliType, one pro one standard. I removed the standard one (b/c that had been installed recently) and it fixed the problem
