Command Line Program Problems

I have a problem when running command prompt programs. when in type netsat in the Run program it opens the closes by itself. this also happens when i try to run any other program like unrar. but i can run these programs by going to accesories and runing them through Command Prompt. why can't I run these programs without them exiting right away?

This happens in Windows 2000 and XP.

You should run these programs from command prompt, which you can get by typing cmd in the run box.

Then you can run your programs and they will still open.
