my specs are

pentium 4 2.8ghz
512 mb ram
ati radeon 9200 graphics card

plz help!!

Can you recall if this occurs when you are doing certains things like playing games? Sometimes shut-downs like this are due to heat. Are all your case fans and cpu fan running? How is your air flow?

it happens sometimes when im playing games but sometimes when im on the internet it also does it
all my fans are running (i got a new one bout a year ago)
what do u mean by air flow?

Since most PCs are cooled by airflow that flows through your tower it is important that nothing impededs this from happening.

What type of power supply do you have. By the way I have the very same video card in my old P3 system and it works quite fine.

my airflow should be good and im not sure what power supply i have but that shoudnt be the problem because i had it for quite a while and it never happened until i changed motherboards cos my old one died

Are you getting any Blue Screens of Death (BSOD)? This is where a Blue Screen will pop up and tell you Windows is shutting down because of blah, blah, blah.

it happens when im on the internet or usually playing "age of mythlogy"
it doesnt happen as often if im playing other games

Okay this is what we need you to do: Attach your minidump to your next post. If you have more than one give them to us.

How to find your minidumps:

My Computer > C Drive > Windows Folder > Minidump Folder > Minidump Files. It is these files that we need you to attach to your next posting, NOT the whole folder.

Below your reply screen is the Additional Options screen. Notice the Manage Attachment button.

i use to have a xp on E drive but the one im using now is on C
there was minidump files on E should i attach

Yes, but not the whole folder just the minidump files within the folder.

A few more questions:

1. When did you change out your motherboard? How old is it?

2. How long has this issue of shutting down been going on since changing out the old for the new?

3. Did you change anything else?

i uploaded 5 files-more to come

i changed my motherboard about 3-4 months ago
it has been going for about 2 months
i didnt change anything else

2 of your minidumps were generic and they don't tell us much.

4 of your minidumps all point to ALCXSENS.sys which is a Sensaura WDM 3D Audio Driver belongs to the software Service for WDM 3D Audio Driver by Sensaura Ltd.

Certain other drivers were cited in these 4 minidumps as well. The two in particular were gta-vc.exe and BF1942. The former belongs to Vice City which has a patch out and the latter to Battlefiled 1942.

1 minidump is an 0x8E citing Pool_Corruption which means you have bad drivers corrupting your driver pool. In this error hpqtra08.exe is noted which is an Hewlett-Packard Digital driver.

Now we come to the most interesting one: cdnprot.sys and everything I have read it is a nasty backdoor trojan. You are infected.

Here are my suggestions:

1. Be very careful where you suf on the internet and what you download/view.

2. If you haven't already you need to sit behind a router, a good anti-virus, antispyware, and a firewall. But even the best security can'r protect us fully without good web surfing habits.

3. Are you running XP with all service packs? If not you need to pronto but not until you do step 4 first.

4. As soon as possible run virus scan, malware scan, rootkit scan BUT before doing so check out the Security and the Web forum here and read the stickies at the top.

5. Once cleaned out see how your system runs. You probably will need to update all your drivers as well.
