Directx 9 Problem

When I try to install directx 9 I get A cabinet file necessary to install cannot be trusted. How can I fix this?

what OS are you running? i reccomend downloading directx 9 again from microsoft, and running that install. does this message give you the option to proceed with the installation?

XP Home

I have XP Home I have tried to download and I get same error. It will not allow me to continue to install.

something probably's been corrupted. this can be caused done by poorly written or malicious software.

Try to dowload this redistributable DX. If you get the same error, there´s something wrong with your computer.

Disable any form of antivirus, internet security, spyware or trojan software you may have running.

The "..cannot be trusted" sounds like a Norton Antivirus error and should be reported to Symantec if indeed disabling Norton bypasses the error.
