Monitors are easy to replace, usually the price of a new screen is around 70-120. every model is different on price.
I've replaced a few and honestly they are pretty simple to replace. The main thing is remembering all the scews and sitting down, doing it all in one sitting.
I find that if you take a day or two break from it, you end up forgetting things. Not that it really matters as you could put back together a laptop with 1/2 of the screws and wouldn't notice a single issue.
There are a TON of videos about doing this stuff on youtube, it's almost a no brainer.
If you take it somewhere, you'll get charged a higher price. Really boils down to are you ok with burning money so you don't have to deal with it.
Personally I like to open them, clean out the heatsink & fan, apply Gelid Solutions GC-Extreme Thermal Compound to the cpu/gpu, and know I've done everything in a single shot.
The other option, if you use your laptop only at home, like it could actually just be a desktop as it doesn't leave the desk. Could just snag a Monitor and hook that up and call it a day.
