Firefox. No connection with paypal or amazon.

Hello,

I'm using Windows 2000. Since I installed Firefox about 3 months ago I cannot access paypal or amazon. These are the only 2 sites as far as I am aware that firefox cannot establish a connection with. Before Firefox was installed everything was fine however I can't access either of these sites with IE either now.

I have googled this problem countless times but to no avail.

Is anyone able to advise me on this? It would be much appreciated.

There was talk about Mozilla dropping suppor for Windows 2000 back in July, 2006, but as far as I know, it is still available in Windows XP compatibility mode.
Windows compatibility mode (Windows XP)

I know that on some systems, Firefox crashes if it's not run in Windows 2000 compatibility mode, which is as follows:

1. Close Firefox by opening the File menu and choosing Exit.

2. Right click the icon you use to start Firefox and choose Properties.

3. Click on the Compatibility tab.

4. Select Run this program in compatibility mode for.

5. Choose Windows 2000 in the drop down.

6. Click OK. Now that Firefox is set to run in Windows 2000 compatibility mode, it may work properly.

Otherwise, totally uninstall Firefox 2.0 and then reboot, clean the registry, then install Firefox 2.0.0.14... again checking for compatibility mode.
