Floppy Drive Error

Could any body help me on this problem?.I have recently put together a computer and whe I start up machine a message comes up

Serial_ch 0 Master: No Device
Serial_ch 1 Master: No Device

A: Drive Error
Press F1 To Resume

Then after pressing F1 Windows loads up everything ok except floppy drive does not work. I've tried another floppy drive and get exactly the same response. if I turn cable round the light is on all the time so I have the cable in correct I do not know what to try next.This is the first time trying to build my own computer.

Try turning off floppy seek at bootup (some BIOS have this option).

Turning off floppy seek helps. it does not show on start up now but the drive still does not work.

try a different cable, then a different drive.

Floppy Drive Problem

thanks to all for your help in this problem I had, I went out today and purchased another one and it works perfectly.Seems strange I purchased 2 and both were faulty.
