Google Maps Also Facing Problems In Australia, Police Warns, Google Explains

Samsung’s latest marketing pull — the one which tries to capitalize on Apple’s Maps blunder by using cars and signage to offer its Galaxy S III for proper navigation – was not relevant for long. A day after we reported it Google has released the iOS version of Maps (which, at the moment, really makes some Android users jealous) but it looks like there’s one more reason for Sammy to ditch the previously mentioned marketing push.
The Australian police was quick to warn about Apple’s Maps but was just as quick to warn about Google’s offering too. Problems with Google Maps are reportedly putting people’s lives at risk along the Great Ocean Road and in the southern Otways, according to the police in Colac, Australia. Apparently, those following Google Maps directions will end up driving on Wild Dog Road, which is not only a one-way road, but it is one that is not built for heavy traffic, says Sergeant Nick Buenen.
