GPU Recommendations

My new build will be a Ryzen 5 3600 based miniITX on a Gigabyte B550 MB. I'm coming to the point where a decision has to be made on the GPU. Budget limits ($350-400) me to a RTX2060 or equivalent and I'm wondering if one card is better than the other and why. This will be my first gaming build so GPU's are still a bit of a mystery to me.

RTX 2060 Super is a good choice, however there is a new 3000 series of cards that look even better, we just can't get out hands on them. If you want to wait it wil be worth waiting for. My first question to any gamer is what kind of games do you play and at what resolution & refresh rate are you looking to play? If you are going to run 1080p, anything will work. If you want to run 1440p high refresh rate like me (144hz) then RTX 2060 or the 2070 Super is a better choice. If you say 4K you should be waiting for a RTX 3080.

I'm afraid the 3000 series will be beyond my reach financially. As for the type of games I am not even sure of that. This began as a way to teach my nephew about building a computer rather than just buying off the shelf units. He is into things like Fortnite and thinks he will make a living making YouTube videos of his "awesomeness". I'm willing to go as far as 1440 at this time so the 2060 looked like it would work but the options are daunting. Super, SC Ultra, KC, etc. I have no real idea what those different iterations mean and if the differences really matter.

Ok. Knowing that go with the Super. I run a computer shop and build computers all the time. I am partial to EVGA RTX 2060 Super ...As far as all the letters after the 2060 Super that deals with extra clock speeds they are squeezing out. You don't care about that much, you are going by price. EVGA is not the lowest price. Don't discount a plain 2070 or a 2070 super..prices seem good on those. 2070 Supers are beating vanilla 2080 so they are excellent 2560 x 1440p gamers. =)

Thank You. I had the EVGA 2060 Super in my Amazon shopping cart but was hoping to get some real world advice. Appreciate it.

Dev is prob. thinking of the GTX 1660 6GB, which is a good card it's just that you are so close to RTX features of which some of them are getting pretty good =)
