HDD not detect

hi gang,
i am trying to add a an sata II HDD to my dfi 790 FX msr2 and it will not see the new drive. i have changed cables and and sata slots to no avail. i have removed all drives except this new one and it will not see the drive. any ideas?

Have you used the proper SATA power and interface connectors? Does the drive show in the bios boot sections?
