High PF usage / Pagefiling

Hi, I have recently reformated my PC due to some issues that I had. Btw dont actually know where to post this =/

Yesterday my Counter Strike was giving me warnings about "OS memery pool low" so I went in to regedit and added the following number 402653184 as Decimal in the "PagePoolSize". My Battlefield BadCompany2 online was also crashing most probably because of the memory pool problem.... Nothing wrong with WoW although I wasnt doing any graphic intsene duties...

After that I had no more errors but still I am running roughly around 555MB PF usage and after couple of hours it goe up to 850MB with only steam running.

Here is two screenshots without many process running & with steam:

So it looks like with Steam it goes up by quite some amounts, and while playing games such as WoW / BF2BC2 / CSS it goes to around 1gb to 1.2gbs ....

I have recently also overclocked my GPU / RAM

RAM: 700mhz to 801mhz
GPU 540mhz to 601mhz

And by the looks of it nothing is overheating.
GPU: 45C at most times and everything else around 40C to 45C...

Also I did do a antimalware scan as well as avira scan anti virus scan after I reformated and nothing was found.

And lastly my system specs:

GPU: NvidiaGforce 8600GT
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200
RAM: 4GB (3gb registered)
PSU: 450W
OS: Windows XP / Home 32bit

PS:

Just to add, when I went to MyComputer performance tab my Virtual memory is set to 2046 (not sure what it supouse to be though..)

For the above I am thinking of increasing it from 2046 to 3054 and see if the problem of Bad Company 2 crashing and high PF usage persists. That said not sure if that has to do with anything with my problems but yeh .... =/

EDIT:

Added two Hijackthis logs, 1 for this morning and the 20.59 is for this evening.

And Bad Company 2 still crashing ...

Thanks in advance

Bump, why is my PF usage high? And Battlefield Bad Company 2 crashing?

I am sure it must be something to do with Page Filing or something along those lines......

Help please? :)

Shameless bump

Here is a screenshot of my CPU Usage, before the crash while i am joining the server and then after the CTD.

Wonder if i should increase the Page File Pool or not =/..... I have been search all over the place and many others are experiencing this problem.... but i could play before i reformated my pc and now i cant.....

Those numbers are not at all unusual. Normally, at 3Gb on XP-home, no paged memory is actually used, but some is always taken. It's all a bit black-art, nobody really knows what goes on, nor what values are sensible. Many people suggest max and min should be the same, it still won't use much of it, but that prevents fragmentation.

http://www.pctipsbox.com/speed-up-windows-by-optimizing-your-page-file/ is as good an idea as any.

On the whole, paging file is not going to be your problem. You are more likely seeing some incompatibility in your hardware and the games at high frame-rates.

I see, i will probably enable Vsync for BFBC2 maybe its crashing due to FPS which I extremely doubt. I have seen that many people experience problems with Realtek HD Audio so I see if I can disable that.

At the moment i put my Virtual memory at these settings:

Min = 4092
Max = 4092

Which is on my boot drive (basically my main drive which I launch "most" programs from).
My recovery partition as well as my external drive have no page filing.

Thanks for the answer by the way, I will most probably contact EA technical support and see what they say.

Once again, ty for reply :)

bumti bump

When i play SC2 it said i am running out of page pool size. I have more then enough specs to play the game...

It lets me play the game but the warning keeps popping up every 5mins..... I tried to edit the pagepoolsize in the registry but dunno if i got the right numbers....
