How do I reload XP Pro on IBM NetVista PC

I have a Netvista and I can't reinstall XP Pro. When I put the cd in it keeps going into the startup screen. I don't see F2 or F12 on the monitor, but the cd rom starts running, but it does'nt go into boot sequence to hit any key to boot. Anyone know what's going on? Thanks
