How do I set up TV as second monitor to watch movies on?

i have a nvidia geforce 7600 gs card and i have attached av cable to the adapter and conected to the card. i dont know how to set up the tv as a monitor and cant find info on how to do it. i know it can be done and assumed all i had to do was plug it in and drag applications over to the tv. that is how i want it set up please help

Have you looked at your video settings. What OS are you running? XP, Vista?

try going into your video/display settings and setting up extended desktop when the tv is plugged in.

is that along the lines of what your looking to do?

i am running xp i know i need to set up the video settings and extended desctop but cant find any option to do it

Right-click on an empty spot on the desktop and look for Nvidia Control Panel. Carefully look for their extended desktop settings somewhere in that utility

thanks i got it working now but only in black and white any ideas???
