A leak (Estonian) released by Estonian site forte.delfi.ee reveals several photos and details of a new device from HTC, which is effectively a mini version of HTC’s flagship handset, the HTC One. The official name of the device is yet unknown, but it has been referred to by sources as the HTC One mini, and the HTC M4.

According to this new information, the handset will sport a slightly smaller display than the original, measuring in at 4.3-inches. The screen itself isn’t much to get excited about with its 720p resolution, but as a mid-range offering, it is more respectable than many alternatives.

The HTC One mini reportedly has a dual-core processor, although the make and model are yet unconfirmed. It also will be equipped with 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a 4-megapixel camera.

The camera utilizes the same UltraPixel technology as the HTC One, which is said to greatly enhance the quality of the photos produced. UltraPixel cameras sacrifice raw pixel quantity for fewer, larger pixels. This increases the amount of light that passes through the sensor, and produces higher quality images in low light and high-speed photography because of reduced blur and faster shutter speeds.

According to the leak, the HTC One mini should arrive in August, but, as always, take leaked release dates as more of an approximation than an opportunity to mark your calendar. It's expected to retail for around €400 (about $520).

This could be seen as the last convulsion fit of a dying company...

The original "One" failed in all sale expectations because of a very weak marketing campaign, dwarfed by that for S4, not that there was anything wrong with the product. This "one" will just follow the suit, unless it does bring technical problems along and fail on all fronts.

Either way, knowing that HTC is now one foot in the grave will make it even less appealing to look at their products...

Seems decent but I decided to get the S4. After turning off all the gimmicky features and bloatware I must say the S4 makes an excellent S2.

HTC One has a far better build and feel in hand compared to plasticky rubishness of Galaxy S line. And with stock OS, it becomes a far better proposition as well. So, stay tuned to get one in about 20 +/- days time ;)

That price for a 720p? I'll stick with my plasticky rubbishness Galaxy S line thank you very much.

The One has a 1080p display with higher ppi than the S4.

The awkward moment when what you say is equivalent to the device you own...

The One Mini has a 1080p display? Oh, alright, if you say so.

You replied to an exhange between me and Archean. We were talking about the One, not the One mini.
