i hate "CiD"

can anyone help please. I seem to be getting plagued by CiD pop ups. I've tried popup blockers and scanned my machine for usual viruses etc but CiDs still appear. I've also read some other threads but they mostly seem to be for individual use. any suggestions ??

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, AVG Antispyware and Combofix logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Also, let me know the results of the AVG Antirootkit scan.

cheers Howard. just I question, I've got Norton AV running on my machine. Do I have to run AVG or will this do?

Hi,

The software in our cleaning recommendations include AVG Antispyware and AVG Anti Rootkit. These are 2 different programs from the antivirus. Please continue to download them and follow the instructions as given.
