How can I recover data from my HDD?

Hi There are several ways. A little more information would help us.Are you talking about a external HD or a HD with a operating system on it? I have two ways. I have UBUNTU14.04.3 on a CD. There are newer versions, but I'm use to that version. I also have a docking cable. Does the HD spin up? You may get better replies from other members here on the forum.
