Max Payne Cheat help

I just got the game Max Payne and installed it normally, then when i tried to use the cheats it won't work. does anyone here have any ideas how to do it?

Which cheats are they? Are they the ones where you have to modify the .ini file?

The devloperkeys cheats where you have to change the shortcut folder to load form Maxpayne devloperkeys.exe if that is any help.
