Need help choosing parts for my computer

I am going to be building my first system soon and I would like to know if i should go with 939 Socket , AM2, or with Intel 775, mostly because of the core 2 duo......Is 939 gonna be around for much longer?

Id say go for 775, but thats just me. Right now core 2 duos are the best, but it doenst mean that AMD won't catch up sooner or later.

what motherboard would you recommend for 775 that supports sli, and has a good amount of sata ports and supports CORE 2 DUO!
