Orcs Must Die! graphic issues

When I start, I don't see my character at all, all I see is that crossbow and other equipment on the floor. When I summon the horde, I only see the top of their heads and after I fire some, my game crashes to desktop without any infos...

This picure I posted is not mine, but it looks exactly the same to me.

This PC that I'm trying to play on sucks balls but I'm quite sure I can play it since others with similar specs can.

Athlon 64 300+ (Single core xD)
2GB Ram
9500 GT 512MB
Tried it on WinXP SP3, Windows 7 Ultimate both 32Bit

I'm the Community Manager at Robot Entertainment, the developers of Orcs Must Die! Just thought I'd drop in to let you know what's going on with this. Your machine is below the minspec requirements of dual core. The game uses the second core to process all of the animations for the orcs and the player, so without it, everything's just a pile of equipment on the floor.
