hi,

i recently bought a GB stick of ddr ram, when i installed it and booted up. all of my programs keep crashing. i thought ram was simply plug and play? and help on this matter would be great

i agree with nodsu if u dont have the old ram in the system try memtest from memtest86.com and let it run for seven passes to check the RAM

need your mobo specs to figure out what's going on.

is the mem the same speed as the old? (pc2100, 2700, etc..)
