random errors

On my new computer I am getting random errors with winows XP media edition. on startup I'll get error reports sometimes, and other times I'll get the sound lilke an error occured right before it goes to shutdown, and sometimes my taskbar freezes. Could anyone help if you need more info just ask.

I don't know what kind of errors that you mention. Do you mean blue screen (ie stop screen or system crash) or application error (ie memory cannot be read).

For blue screen
Control Panel -> Adminstrative Tools -> Event Viewer -> System -> Event 1001. Copy the content and paste it back here
