Realtek HD Audio codec Drivers for Windows 10

I have been installing "Realtek HD Audio Codec Driver" with Versions numbers: 6.0.1.7977 on my Windows 10 machine. There is now a new release with the exact same name "Realtek HD Audio Codec 2.81 for Windows 10 released. These version numbers are not even close. What is the difference between the two versions?
