Recovering a password

Despite the fact I've saved my email password in both & Google Chrome & FF, neither show a specific one I need. Any help is greatly appreciated .

This started late yesterday & since then I have tried numerous times to change my password & that doesn't work either. Never have I had this much trouble doing such in yahoo. Or is it yahell ?

Using (IE) Edge I'm able to reset my password & gain entry,yet using SAME username/password, I still can't get in using GC or FF Why ??
