if someone can tell me how to restore to factory defaults WITHOUT a disc or program please tell me, it's for windows xp pro edition and i know u have to press one of the "f" buttons with or maybe without "ctrl"+"alt" at the splash screen because i've done it before but stupidly i forgot how :S and currently i can't even get onto windows because of some data reading error or somthing so im using my families computer to post this, i've looked all over google for it and searched on here but i can't find it, please help

I'm assuming that you are meaning "restoring your BIOS to factory defaults". First push the start button on your machine and begin tapping on the 'delete' key. This will get you into your BIOS menu. There is a choice in your BIOS menu that says exactly this: "restore to factory defaults". Select this option and allow your machine to run and go into Windows. This will take care of your first issue. As far as your "data reading error".....repost that problem separately after you restore the BIOS to factory defaults. Good Luck.

doesnt work :S
the screen shows i have to choose how to start windows (normally/safe mode/etc)
and i've tried every option but it always comes up with a blue screen showing "a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer
-UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME-
if this is the first time you have seen this stop error screen restart your computer.
if this screen appears again follow these steps : check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installes. if this is a new instalation ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.
if problems continue disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software.
disable bios memory options such as caching or shadowing.
if you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components restart your computer and press f8 to select advance start up options and then select safe mode.

To get into BIOS reboot your PC and hit your Delete key and it should take you into the BIOS screen.
