I've recently decided I want to go with my sudden nostalgia and reinstall my Sims 2 games on my old PC. Trouble is, I am getting this error:
I've done a bit of reading and I guess this is a pretty common problem... though nothing I have tried so far has worked. I have tried to update the DirectX driver, but my computer didn't like it; I think I just downloaded the wrong file.
According to the Start>Run>dxdiag, my configuration is as follows:
Computer Make/Model - Dell Inspiron 1501 // Microsoft Windows XP // Version 2002
Processor/Speed - Processor 3600+, 1.99 GHz
Memory Amount - 896 MB or RAM
DirectX - 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
Now. Let me mention that these Sims 2 games used to work perfectly on this computer, which means the specs and system requirements were fine.
