sims 2 no longer working

hi,
i have a problem with my sims 2game. i have been playing it for like 2 months now and it used to work fine. today, i wantd to play it and it loaded fine. when i went into a neighbourhood to click on a house, the blue screen of death immeadiately comes! Wats wrong??? The sims 2 is my DRUG!!! lol...ok...i just need someones help please!

if you have windows 2k or xp, go to start > programs > accessories > system tools > system restore

you can try using this to restore the system to an earlier time when the game worked. just select a date prior to your noticing the problem. do not interrupt the restore process, it can take quite some time.

This could be caused by a corrupted Sims 2 saved game file... or perhaps some other corrupted Sims 2 file.

Does it just happen in one neighborhood? I remember Sims 1 used different saved files for different neighborhoods, maybe Sims 2 works the same way. Doing this may help us figure it out.

This works when i try to go into a neighbourhood, the blue screen just shows up. i dont know why! it just started happening yesterday!
