Sims 2 will not install

Hi , i have trouble with installing the Sims 2 when i try to install it says problem occurd when trying to transfer E:\Support\es\Leeme.txt from the media ,+ i have windows 7 plss could any1 help me ???

It could be the disk has a bit of dirt, grease or something that is interfering with reading the disk or possibly the optical drive is failing.
