ever since i got my new pc i get spikes on diablo ii that last a few seconds, the spikes aren't ping related, and my fps stays at a constant 60 (capped) until the spike happens, in which case it drops to zero until the spike ends, only diablo 2 freezes and it happens every few minutes for a 3-4 seconds

ive edited every feature in the catalyst control center and nothing fixes it, fan control, catalyst ai, mipmap detail, vsync, opengl, i've set diablo to directdraw and direct3d
i have the latest video card driver and gave updating my bios a shot (version f8), virtual memory is set to 6144-12288
really don't have any more guesses or much information so if anybody needs anything let me know
