Text files with multiple sortable columns?

How can this be done. I decide what columns. Sort on any column. For example a list of songs with title, artist, anything else.
I don't work in an office, don't use Ms Office. Have Windows 2000.
And an extra benefit could be searchable.

Suggest you do it on a simple spreadsheet. If you have MS Works, there's one in there. Make a column for each subject, then sort.

Actually Office is installed, sorry. It's 12MB. Don't know what it's good for for me.
Will have to look into spreadsheets. Don't have Works.
